If you’ve run out of your beloved almond butter, don’t fret! In a few simple steps I’ll show you how to make this super impressive homemade almond butter with an added level of decadence. 

If you prefer plain almond butter, just skip step 5.  

The recipe I decided to make is this Chocolate Sea Salt Cinnamon Almond Butter:
Step 1: Start with raw almonds, pour onto baking sheet, and bake for 13-15 minutes. You’ll know when it’s ready because you kitchen will smell incredible.

Step 2: Let almonds cool for about 15 minutes, then add to a food processor or high speed blender like a Vitamix.

Step 3: Process almonds until they begin to look like coarse sand or almond meal.

Step 4: This step requires the patience of a saint. DO NOT add any liquids or oils, no matter how tempted you may be. Continue processing (for about 10 minutes) and eventually the natural oils from the almonds will release and your almond meal will turn into almond butter.

Step 5: Add in your extras! I used 1 tbsp cacao powder, 1/2 tsp of sea salt and 1/4 tsp cinnamon. Process again to combine all ingredients and create a super smooth and creamy almond butter. 

Step 6: Put into air-tight container and store in fridge. It will keep about 2 weeks, but I doubt it will last that long. 😉
