A delicious smoothie fit for breakfast, snack time, or dessert!

This smoothie is great for thyroid health due to one special ingredient. BRAZIL NUTS!

Brazil nuts are high in selenium. Selenium is not only a potent antioxidant for the body, but also necessary for thyroid hormone conversion (T4 which is inactivate, to T3 which is active and usable).

I personally eat 2-3 daily for this reason! Living with Hashimoto’s means I need to be extra diligent about providing my body with essential nutrients. 
Be careful however, more is not better in this case. Selenium toxicity is a real thing, so please no more than 3 daily.

If you don’t love the taste of Brazil nuts, simply toss them into a smoothie, like this one!

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup unsweetened nut milk
  • 1/2 cup organic raspberries
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 scoop collagen powder
  • 1 TBSP cocoa powder
  • 1/2 TBSP chia seeds
  • 2 Brazil nuts
  • Ice (for thicker texture)

DIRECTIONS

  • Add ingredients into blender, blend until smooth.
  • Serve immediately, enjoy!
